This Friday 28 Sept is staff development day so school is closed to students!
Lucky Numbers Club
The Lucky Numbers Club is a private lottery offering the chance of winning a cash prize every month. It is open to parents, friends and staff of Borden Grammar School. The money raised through the club contributes significantly to the annual income of the PFA and provides much needed funds for extra equipment and teaching aids over and above that provided by the school’s funds.
Each share costs £12 per annum and provides two numbers in each monthly draw.
The value of the monthly prizes will vary according to the number of shares and, with your help we can ensure that the membership, and therefore the value of prizes, continues to grow.
Each month, three prizes will be drawn as follows:
1st: 25% of the monthly proceeds
2nd: 10% of the monthly proceeds
3rd: 5% of the monthly proceeds The December draw is double the monthly draw
Joining couldn’t be simpler! Just download a form from the PFA page on the school website (found under the ‘school’ heading) and return it to the school office marked for the attention of Borden PFA Lucky Numbers.
Your lucky numbers will then be issued to you and you will be entered into each of the monthly draws from the start of your membership. You may purchase as many shares as you wish – the more you have the more chance of winning you have and the more ‘extras’ we will be able to provide for the school.
We are very grateful for your support of the Lucky Numbers Club and look forward to receiving your completed application form soon. Treena Field - Promoter, Lucky Numbers Club
Mrs Carter is starting off the new academic year with not one but two competitions! For those of you who are new to the school, Mrs Carter runs a Monthly Maths competition which encourages your son to do a little bit of maths every day, as the best way to learn maths is to practice it! Any student in Year 7 through to Year 11 is welcome to enter. If you have any difficulty printing off a copy then please ask your son to come and see Mrs Carter (classroom S10) and she will provide him with a paper copy. Both August and September competitions are below and the winner for each month will receive a £10 Amazon gift card. Congratulations to Joshua Gray for winning July's competition. Good luck to all those taking part! And remember, the best way to revise maths is to 'DO MATHS!'
School will be closing early at 2.15 pm on Thursday 13 September to prepare for our annual Prizegiving event. The library will be open for any students awaiting transport and as usual for Homework Club until 3.30pm.
